Click It or Ticket kicks off May 20

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office will participate in the national Click It or Ticket campaign from May 20 to June 2.

The initiative aims to increase seat belt usage and reduce traffic fatalities during the Memorial Day holiday and beyond.

Law enforcement will conduct high-visibility patrols, enforcing Wisconsin’s primary seat belt law, which allows officers to stop and cite motorists for not wearing a seat belt.
