The city treasurer’s office is changing its hour effective Monday, Dec. 14.

New hours for the office are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 1:45 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The office will be closed from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.

According to a news release from the treasurer’s office, taxpayers are “strongly” encouraged to pay their city taxes online, via drop boxes at the County-City Building, or by U.S. Mail.

Drop boxes are located on the outside of the building, 1515 Strongs Ave., at the entrance, or in the hallway outside the treasurer’s office door.

The new hours reflect the limited number of staff members working inside the treasurer’s office due to COVID-19, with some staff working remotely.

Anyone who chooses to pay in person should expect delays.

Receipts for payments can be obtained by including a self-addressed stamped envelope with the tax payment, or by visiting StevensPoint.com/taxes and searching by the name or address.
