City to flush water mains overnight this week

STEVENS POINT – The city’s public utilities department will begin flushing water mains throughout Stevens Point beginning Monday night, city officials announced.

The flushing will take place overnight, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., starting Monday, May 12, and continuing each night through the early morning hours of Friday, May 16.

During that time, residents may experience low water pressure or discolored water. Anyone experiencing issues during the day is asked to call the Public Utilities office at 715-345-5260.

The routine maintenance is intended to improve water quality and ensure proper system function, according to Joel Lemke, director of public utilities and transportation.
