Stevens Point has opened the municipal pool for the 2022 season.

Parks Director Dan Kremer said the city is able to offer eight free swim nights this year thanks to sponsorships from area businesses.

The free swim sessions are from 10 am. to noon on the following dates:

  • Saturday, July 30 – Sponsored by Marshfield Clinic
  • Sunday, July 31 – Sponsored by Marshfield Clinic
  • Saturday, August 6 – Sponsored by Delta Dental
  • Sunday, August 14 – Sponsored by Skyward

Additional sponsorships are available. Area businesses interested in participating should contact Anne Hylla at 715-346-1578.

The pool will also offer two “Tube & Toy Night” events on June 17 and July 20 from 6-9 p.m. Admission is $2 per person on both nights, and free pool noodles will be handed out to the first 200 swimmers, courtesy of Operation Bootstrap.

The Donald Copps Municipal Pool features swimming lanes, a diving well, and a 162-foot waterslide. A wading pool and raindrop foundation are also onsite.

Pool hours are 1-5:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 1-7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Lap swims are available every morning 8:45-9:45 a.m., and lunch lap swims are available Monday through Friday from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m.

Daily admission is $4 for city residents and $5 for non-residents. Season passes and private pool parties are also available on the city’s website.
