The Stevens Point Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department on Wednesday announced it will soon house an AED at two of its seasonal facilities, thanks to the St. Michael’s Foundation.

The Automatic External Defibrillators come from the Foundation’s Cardiac Arrest Survival Team (CAST) Fund, according to a press release from the parks department.

Parks Director Dan Kremer said his department is “incredibly fortunate” to have a community partner in the St. Michael’s Foundation, and plans to keep the AED at Goerke Community Stadium for fall, spring, and summer athletic events. The device will be kept at the Iverson Winter Sports Area each winter.

“We believe having this AED in Goerke and Iverson Parks for our organized activities and athletics will
further protect our valued visitors who frequent these facilities and better prepare our team to respond in
case of an emergency,” Kremer said. “We can’t thank the St. Michael’s Foundation and their team enough for selecting us for this grant.”
