The Stevens Point City Band will present its second concert of the summer season on June 13, this time with the theme “Locomotion”.

The concert kicks off at 7 p.m. in the Pfiffner Pioneer Park Bandshell.

Under the direction of Kathryn Kawleski, this week’s concert celebrates all kinds of “movement, motion, and transportation”, according to a news release from Kawleski.

Featured numbers will include “The Great Locomotive Chase”, “Liberty Fleet March”. “A Day at Disneyland”, “Duke Ellington in Concert”, “The Beatles: Love”, “Roller Coaster” and “Selections from The Great Race” by Henry Mancini.

A highlight of the evening will be the performance of Jack Bullock’s “Five To Go”, featuring several of the band’s saxophonists.

Audience members should bring their own chairs or blankets.

Michele’s Restaurant and Catering of Stevens Point will provide food for purchase before and during the concert.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the gymnasium at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1919 Wyatt Ave.

Concerts are free and held Wednesday evenings through August 1.
