City approves change in location for voters in District 1
Metro Wire Staff
Voters in the city’s 1st District will cast their ballots this spring at Mid-State Technical College, 1001 Center Point Dr.
The district’s regular polling place was the Hi-Rise Manor, 1300 Briggs Ct., but was moved before last November’s election to MSTC due to the number of residents at the Hi-Rise who are considered high-risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new location remains in effect for the April 6 spring election, according to Interim City Clerk Kari Yenter. The city council approved the location change during its monthly meeting on Jan. 18.
Second-term Councilwomanm Tori Jennings is running unopposed for the seat. Yenter, City Attorney Andrew Beveridge, and Comptroller-Treasurer Corey Ladick are also running unopposed.
Voters can also request an absentee ballot by mail by calling the clerk’s office at 715.346.1569.
