Christopher “Chris” Allen Philipp, 42

Christopher “Chris” Allen Philipp, of Rosholt, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 42 on Aug. 26, 2025.

Chris was born June 19, 1983, in Milwaukee, son of David and Bobbi (née Dolezal) Philipp. As a child, Chris was a social butterfly with boundless energy. Anyone who met him instantly loved him. From an early age, he showed a true passion for the outdoors, hunting, and fishing with family whenever he had the chance.

Chris graduated from Rosholt High School with the Class of 2002.

Following high school, Chris entered the workforce, holding various construction jobs. He enjoyed working with his hands and was proud of the work he accomplished. His time on the job taught him many valuable skills, and he was truly a jack of all trades.

Chris’s love for the outdoors stayed with him his entire life. As an adult, he continued to enjoy hunting, fishing, and boating. He also loved spending time with friends and family. Chris was the life of the party and had a smile that lit up any room he entered. Even more profound was Chris’s love for people. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. His generosity and compassion will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his parents, David and Bobbi; his sister, Lindsey Wolosek (Chet); his nieces, Briana, Cassidy, and Kaylin Wolosek; 21 aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Christine Philipp; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Karen Dolezal; an uncle, Tim Marquardt; and cousins, Kyle Marquardt and Steven Jenkins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the first responders, police department, fire department, and everyone involved in attempting to save Chris. Also to Shuda Funeral Chapel for the assistance and guidance through this tragic time, Pastor Mike for his generosity and humor, and to the entire community for the outpouring of support, kind words, and memories they continue to share.

A funeral service will be held to honor Chris’s life at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Church, 253 S. Main St., Rosholt. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Shuda Funeral Chapel is honored to be assisting the family.
