Christina Moodie, 34

Christina Moodie, 34, of Stevens Point, died unexpectedly at home on July 3, 2024.

Christina was born on July 22, 1989, in Orange County, Cali., to Alan and Mary Meyer. After graduating high school in 2008, she moved to Stevens Point and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She later transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to pursue a degree in communications.

On Aug. 1, 2009, Christina married Barry D. Moodie at the top of Rib Mountain, the location of their first date. Their 14-year marriage was marked by love, service, sacrifice, generosity, and laughter. She deeply loved her husband and their two children, Emmett and Kate.

Christina was a faithful and loving wife, mother, homeschool teacher, and friend. She was a talented writer, photographer, artist, and entrepreneur. An avid reader and bicyclist, she was also known for her culinary skills, with her tacos being a family favorite.

Christina’s faith was central to her life. She loved Jesus and was dedicated to following, learning, and teaching about Him. She was deeply involved with her local church and had a significant spiritual impact on many lives. Passionate about education, she planned to teach theology in professional settings.

She is survived by her husband, Barry; children, Emmett and Kate; parents, Alan (Angela) Meyer and Mary (Jim) Altenburg; brother, Blake (Abby) Meyer; stepsiblings, Nathaniel, Matt and Amanda; grandfather, Ted Wortman; and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at Woodlands Church in Plover. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
