Children’s Museum to offer sample Suzuki class for young kids

STEVENS POINT — The Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum will host a free sample class next month for families interested in Suzuki early childhood education.

The Mini Suzuki Early Childhood Education class will be held from 10 to 10:40 a.m. Sept. 10 in the museum’s Party Room. The museum is offering the class in partnership with the Aber Suzuki Center.

The class is open to children from birth through age 4 accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Expecting parents also may participate.

Families will sing, move and play together through nursery rhymes, action songs and short poems. The activities are designed to develop attention, coordination and social-emotional skills.

The mixed-age class also gives younger children an opportunity to learn by watching older participants, while older children can take on mentoring roles.

“More than anything, this class is a chance for families to grow together; make music, friends, and memories,” said Grazzia Rode-Sagastume, an Aber Suzuki Center faculty member and instructor.

The Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum is located at 1100 Main St. in downtown Stevens Point.
