Bruce Donald Miller, 75
Bruce Donald Miller, 75, of Stevens Point, died July 23, 2024, surrounded by his family at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Bruce was born April 27, 1949, in Marshfield, Wis., to the late Donald and Anita (Hohl) Miller. He grew up in the Greenwood area, where he enjoyed baseball, cars, photography, playing drums, and spending time with his dog, Mickey. Bruce graduated from Greenwood High School in 1967.
In 1968, after performing with his self-organized Tijuana Brass Band at the Neillsville County Fair, Bruce met Wendy Gardner. They married two years later and had two children, Chad and Heidi. Bruce earned a degree in business and marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and worked for companies including Mobil Oil, NAPA Auto Parts, and local hotel and conference centers. He was instrumental in opening a NAPA Auto Parts store and developing the Central Wisconsin Convention and Expo Center in Rothschild.
Bruce enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and camping, creating traditions with friends and family that continue with his children and grandchildren. In later years, he pursued his passions for antique cars and photography, regularly attending the Iola car show and showcasing his 1941 Chevy business coupe. He was an active member of the Focal Point Camera Club. Bruce also enjoyed making wine, sampling rare bourbons, and perfecting his Southern Comfort Old Fashioned recipe.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Wendy; his children, Chad (Erin) Miller of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Heidi (Cody) Boyce of Boise, Idaho; and four grandchildren, Olivia and Grace Miller and Caleb and Maddie Boyce. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra (Frank) Hoagland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Harv Heck, his nephew Trent, and several aunts and uncles.
The family extends special thanks to the Advanced Heart Failure Team at Froedtert Hospital, the Hemophilia Team at the Comprehensive Center for Bleeding Disorders, and the doctors and nurses who cared for Bruce.
