Boys & Girls Club to provide free grab-and-go Thanksgiving meals

Metro Wire Staff

All eight locations of the Boys and Girls Club of Portage Co. will be serving Thanksgiving dinner again this year, but a bit differently than usual.

Members and their families can pick up a special grab-and-go meal on Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The 19th annual feast is sponsored by TDS Fiber.

Meals include roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, a dinner roll, corn, dressing, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Families will also receive a Thanksgiving family activity along with the chance to participate in their frozen turkey give-away.

Registration for the meal is required. Families from Almond-Bancroft, Junction City, and Rosholt will have their meals delivered to their Club site location, while Stevens Point and Plover area Club families will pick up meals at the Berard Center, 941 Michigan Ave.

The Club is also in need of volunteers and turkey donations. Anyone interested in helping should contact Mikayla Kleifgen at [email protected] or 715-204-1199.
