Boys & Girls Club launches Giving Tuesday campaign to support holiday meals

By Patrick Lynn

STEVENS POINT — After serving more than 700 children and family members during its annual Thanksgiving Feast, the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County is turning its focus to ensuring families have access to warm, nutritious meals through the rest of the holiday season.

The Club has been preparing Grab N Go meals each night for members and their families. On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, the organization aims to raise enough money to continue offering daily meals through the end of the year. Donations will help cover food costs, staff time, and meal preparation.

A donation match from Bob and Mary Berard will double all contributions up to $15,000.

“We are so grateful to our community for helping us provide more meals to our Club families,” CEO Danielle Belsky said. “Their support ensures families can come together, share a meal, and enjoy the holidays without worry.”

The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County serves more than 2,000 youth across 11 sites in Stevens Point, Plover, Junction City, Rosholt, Amherst, and Almond/Bancroft. Youth can join at any time, with affordable membership options for both the school year and summer.
