Boys & Girls Club launches campaign to support Portage Co. kids

PORTAGE COUNTY — The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County has launched its Annual Campaign, “Building Strong Foundations for Youth,” to raise funds supporting local children and teens.
The campaign will help maintain critical programs, keep membership fees affordable, and expand services to reach more young people across Portage County. Funds also support club staff, who provide mentorship, encouragement and daily connection to help youth build life skills and self-confidence.
“From academic support and nutritious meals to mental health resources and a safe space to grow, the Boys & Girls Club is committed to doing whatever it takes to help local youth thrive,” the organization said in a statement.
One recent success story shared by the club involved a young member who had recently moved to the area and was struggling socially and academically. With the support of club staff, the youth made friends, improved academically, and began to thrive.
Thanks to an anonymous donor, all contributions made before July 31 will be matched dollar for dollar.
Community members can support the campaign through one-time or recurring donations or by helping to spread the word. Donations stay local and benefit youth directly. Contributions can be made at www.bgclubpc.org/give.
The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County serves more than 2,000 youth at 11 locations, including Stevens Point, Plover, Junction City, Rosholt, Amherst, and Almond-Bancroft.
