Blubber Run registration opens

Dust off your lederhosen and dirndl dresses—it’s time for Point Brewery’s 7th annual Oktoberfest celebration.

The Sept. 15 event benefits Pints for Prostates, a cancer research and awareness organization.

Participants must be 21 years or older and are encouraged to wear costumes for the 5-K fun run, which features a “Point Beer Stop” half-way through. The 5K is limited to 500 runners.

Trophies will be given for best group costume and best costume, as well as fastest female and male runners. The run begins at 3 p.m. and follows a portion of the Green Circle Trail.

The party kicks off at 4 p.m. at the Point Brewery, 2617 Water St., with more than 40 craft beers and hard ciders, German food, live music, costume contests and more. Entertainment will be provided by Stetsin & Lace.

Registration is $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event. Tickets are available at pointbeer.com/tickets.
