Metro Wire Staff

An employee of Blenker Companies, Inc. has been giving the highest honor of the year by the Wisconsin Builders Association.

The WBA has announced its 2019 Builder of the Year recipient is Pam Jewell of Blenker Companies, Inc.—the highest honor a builder member can obtain.

Only one award is given each year, according to a news release from WBA, and nominees are judged on their professionalism as well as their activity within the WBA, the NAHB, and their own community.

Jewell is a member of the Golden Sands Home Builders Association (GSHBA), and has been the recipient of the People’s Choice Parade of Homes Award, Builder of the Year twice, Leadership Award, Rising Star Award, and the President’s Award twice, Top Spike Award, Outstanding Member Award twice, and to date, she is the only female president of the GSHBA.

Her involvement in the GSHBA included holding the position of WBA State Director since 2000.

Jewell’s involvement as a WBA State Director led to her being inducted as a WBA Life Director in 2010. She previously served as vice chair for WBA Membership in 2008 and the committee’s chair in 2009.

She was awarded the WBA Rising Star in 2010, inducted into the WBA Hall of Fame in 2011, was the WBA President in 2015, and now the WBA Builder of the Year in 2019.

“Pam has been a tireless leader over the years who has given a great deal of time to help our association
grow and remain strong in a number of key leadership roles,” said Brad Boycks, the WBA’s executive director. “Congratulations to Pam for receiving the 2019 WBA Builder of the Year, and for her continued
dedication to the industry.”

Jewell said she was “honored” for the recognition, and was “excited” to continue her involvement in the WBA.

The Wisconsin Builders Association is a professional trade association, advancing the housing industry for members and consumers through government involvement, education, and promotion. The WBA’s role is to drive sound housing policy, resulting in affordable, innovative, and environmentally conscious homes accessible to all.
