Bernice Marie Morton, 90
Bernice Marie Morton, 90, of Plover, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at The Lodge at Whispering Pines in Plover. Bernice was under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born on April 15, 1931, in Chicago Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Adolf and Bernice (Ostrowski) Jankowski.
Her marriage to Joseph Morton took place on June 25, 1952, at St. Peters Catholic Church. After the marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband died on January 16, 1978.
Bernice worked at Kmart for a number of years as a cashier/greeter and also worked in the pharmacy department. She retired in 1999.
She was a member of the St. Peter’s rosary society and also sang in the church choir for 25 years.
She enjoyed baking and cooking including her famous breads, biscuits, and chocolate chip cookies. Watching the Brewer games, gardening, and taking drives to see the fall colors and casino trips.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Ken) Merriam of Maynard, MA. and Mary Kay (Michael) Kosobucki of Stevens Point; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Sheila) Hetzel, Jenni (Casey) Cox, Devin (Hope) Hetzel, Michael (Chris Gray) Merriam, Scott (Corinna) Kosobucki, Craig (Marne) Kosobucki, Troy (Deanna) Kosobucki, Dan (Meredith) Merriam and Chris Merriam; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, Robert (Dorothy) Jankowski of Menasha, a sister, Josephine Danczyk of Menasha, and a sister-in-law, Bridget Morton of Stevens Point.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony, Stanley, and Adolph Jankowski, and one sister, Anna Pascewicz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021, at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit from 9 a.m. Friday morning at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second St., until 10:15 a.m. prior to the funeral mass. There will be a general rosary at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home. The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
