Bernard R. Levandowski, 92
Bernard R. Levandowski, 92, of Stevens Point, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sept. 6, 2025.
He was born May 10, 1933, in Knowlton, the son of the late Frank and Emily (née Novak) Levandowski. He married Bernice Serafin, and together they welcomed two sons, Ken and Dennis.
Levandowski was a caring man who enjoyed gardening, feeding birds and rabbits, splitting wood, and playing his concertina. He had a wonderful sense of humor, but also wasn’t afraid to “tell it like it is.”
He was active in his community as a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1170, a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 18, and a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. He also served as fire chief of the Dewey Fire Department before his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice; sons Ken (Annette) and Dennis (Janet); five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Bernice Kawlewski; and sisters-in-law Adeline, Nancy, and Joy Serafin and Eileen Derr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rich, Leo, and Norbert; and two sisters, Marian and Adeline.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
The family extends a special thank-you to the Wausau Aspirus Hospice nurses for their exceptional care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in St. Casimir Parish Cemetery.
Shuda Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
