Andrew (Andy) F. Kurszewski, 72
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Andrew (Andy) F.
Kurszewski, of Stevens Point on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the age of 72. He will be sadly missed
and will always hold a special place in the hearts of countless family and friends.
Andy was born on June 30, 1950, to the late Elias and Clara Kurszewski. He was the oldest of nine children and was raised on a farm in Rosholt. After graduating from high school; he proudly served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in the infantry during the Vietnam War. He went on to have a successful career retiring from Car Quest in 2012 after receiving many recognition awards.
Andy belonged to the Polish Legion of America Veterans (PLAV), VFW, and the Knights of Columbus. He was privileged to participate in the Never Forgotten Honor Flight in May of this year.
Andy met the love of his life Debra (Tetzloff) and was united in marriage on May 4, 1974. Andy will be fondly remembered by his children Paul (Ashley) Kurszewski and Chad Kurszewski, both of Rosholt, and Amy (Andy) Wavrunek of Stevens Point.
Together Andy and Debra (“Matka”) have enjoyed spending time at the lake house, traveling especially to Gulf Shores, and spending time with family and friends. Andy also enjoyed hunting and fishing, Wednesday card games, and being able to fix whatever project came up in his shop. He particularly excelled at being the loving “Papa” to his grandchildren Avery, Delaney, Emersyn, Elias, Bennett, and Rayna.
He will further be missed by four brothers; Robert (Roxanne) Kurszewski and Dennis Kurszewski both of Custer, Joseph (Wanda) Kurszewski and Richard (Koren) Kurszewski both of Rosholt. Three sisters; Nancy (Harold) Dombeck of Schofield, Arlene (Tom) Prondzinski of Polonia, and Patricia (John) Raykowski of Rosholt; two brothers-in-law, Dennis (Faye) Tetzloff of Stevens Point and Dan (Meivis) Tetzloff of Minot, ND; one sister-in-law, Diane Tetzloff (Jeff Krupka) of Stevens Point, in-laws Maynard and Rose Tetzloff of Stevens Point, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Maynard, sister-in-law Roxanne Kurszewski, and nephew Ryan Wanta.
We would love for you to come and honor his life on Friday, November 25, 2022, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church–Fancher, 3995 Cty Rd. K, Amherst. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Full military honors will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and will later be dispersed in Andy’s honor.
