The SPASH Athletic Department on Tuesday announced that Scott Anderson, head coach for its boys basketball team, has decided not to return as head coach next year.
Anderson has been the head coach of the program for the past nine seasons and has compiled an overall record of 179-52 at SPASH.
His teams have won six consecutive Wisconsin Valley Conference Championships, seven regional championships, three sectional championships, and three consecutive WIAA Division 1 State Championships in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
Anderson said he wants to spend more time with his family, which includes watching and following his son Trevor, who is a sophomore on the University of Wisconsin basketball team.
Michael Blair, the schools director of athletics, said Anderson will be “dearly” missed.
“We want to thank Coach Anderson for not only his hard work and dedication to our school and boys basketball program but also for the manner in which he and his teams represented SPASH,” Blair said in an email. “Coach Anderson is the epitome of class and everything that is right with high school sports. We will miss him dearly as the leader of our boys basketball program and are thankful that he will remain an integral member of our teaching faculty.”
Blair indicated SPASH will begin its search for the next SPASH boys head basketball coach immediately.
