Agnes “Aggie” Kobishop, 91

Agnes “Aggie” Kobishop, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Aug. 28, 2026.

She was born Aug. 19, 1935, to the late Matt and Regina (Kosobucki) Glodowski. She was one of six siblings, all raised on the family farm near Rosholt, Wisconsin. She attended Alban one-room School, St. Adalbert’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from Rosholt High School.

Following graduation, she made the big move to Stevens Point, where she shared an apartment with a girlfriend and began working at Hardware Mutual. That same friend was dating Peter Kobishop at the time and encouraged Peter to invite his cousin, Ron, to come along for a ride in Peter’s convertible and meet Aggie. Ron and Aggie were married Aug. 25, 1956, at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Rosholt and were blessed with 67 years of marriage until Ron’s passing in 2023.

Shortly after their wedding, they purchased their first and only home in Stevens Point. Then they rented it out while Aggie went to live with Ron in Schweinfurt, Germany, where Ron was stationed with the U.S. Army.

After returning to the United States, they started their family and Aggie devoted herself to both her family and community. In her younger years, she played in a volleyball league at the Stevens Point Recreation Center and enjoyed camping with the Camping Hounds. A talented seamstress, she made many of her daughter’s clothes and provided alterations for anyone who needed them. She loved gardening and canning and enjoyed crafting and making quilts for her family. She assisted with her daughters’ Brownie and Girl Scout troops, volunteered for many years at American Red Cross blood drives, and helped design and sew altar cloths and baptismal gowns. Her sewing talents also led her to work at Dream Weavers and Town & Country Bridal Shops.

Aggie enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo and meeting friends for lunch, especially at Al’s Diner. For many years, she co-chaired the Farmers Market at Pacelli Panacea and bingo at Riverfront Rendezvous. She was a devoted and active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together, Ron and Aggie chaired the annual church picnic for over 30 years and also organized Senior Day Trips. Aggie was also a Eucharistic minister. One cherished annual tradition involved the entire family helping decorate the church, inside and out, for Christmas.

As a faithful member of the St. Anne’s Rosary Society, now known as PCCW, Aggie was always willing to serve wherever needed. She participated in the annual Cookie Walk, chili suppers and special diocesan meals, cooked the funeral luncheons, and participated in countless other parish activities.

Aggie loved opening her home to family and friends. Weekly Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings became treasured traditions. As the family grew over the years, tables were added to make room for everyone. There were always plenty of made-from-scratch meals and desserts, especially her homemade pies! No one ever left her house hungry or without leftovers. Late winter brought another family favorite as she lovingly prepared paczki as a treat before Lent started.

Above all, Aggie’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured time spent with Ron, her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “GGma.” Family vacations were a priority and created memories that lasted a lifetime. In the early years, adventures were enjoyed in a truck camper, and summer included frequent camping weekends with close friends and their families.

She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy (Tim) Kaczmarek, Mary Guzman and Lisa (Jeff) Dahlseng; grandchildren, Mike (Amanda) Kaczmarek, Andy (Samantha) Kaczmarek, Zach (Lauren Kumpf) Dahlseng, Abbey Dahlseng and Megan (fiancé Sam Franz) Dahlseng; and her great-grandchildren, Trenton, Grace, Jonah, Harper and Rowan Kaczmarek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron; son-in-law, Brian Guzman; brothers, Joe and Ernie; and sisters, Emily, Ramona and Theresa.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at Whispering Pines, Dr. Dominee Manzon and Kourtney of Marshfield Clinic-Stevens Point, the Emergency and IMC departments of Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital, and Aspirus Hospice for their compassionate care and support. We are also deeply grateful to Fr. Tim, Fr. Dan, Deacon Mike and the St. Joseph Catholic Church family for their prayers, kindness and support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Agnes’ name will be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Agnes at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1709 Wyatt Ave., Stevens Point, with the Rev. Tim Oudenhoven officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
