AECOM to present recommendations for Bus. 51

Engineering firm AECOM will present its recommended design for the Business 51 project during Monday’s Board of Public Works.

The city has held numerous stakeholder meetings and public input sessions over the past two years, and Monday’s presentation will be an update on the progress. AECOM was hired in late 2019 to complete 30 percent of the design for the three-mile span of road.

The entire roadway between the city’s northern entrance at I-39 to its southern limit at Minnesota Ave. needs replacing, as does the aging infrastructure beneath the road.

The city’s standing committees begin on Monday, Aug. 9, at 6 p.m. in the Committee Room of the Stevens Point Police Department, 933 Michigan Ave. The Board of Public Works is expected to meet at 6:25 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
