Bob was born on July 2, 1929 to the late S. Edward Ciesielski and Sophie Ciesielski (Biesek) at their family home located in Bancroft, Wis. He attended and graduated from Stewart School in Bancroft. He then went on and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School on May 28,1947.

Bob was a longtime concrete mason of 69 years. He owned his own business, Bob Ciesielski Concrete and Masonry. He was also employed at Preway in Wisconsin Rapids until they closed down, then began to work for the Stevens Point School District as a bus driver for many years till he “retired”.

Bob never truly retired as he continued to do concrete work up until the age of 87. He had many employees, but the long-term employees were his children, grandchildren, great-grandson and George Brandl.

Bob married Shirley A. McCormick on November 5, 1949 at St Bronislava Catholic Church they were high school sweethearts. After their marriage they moved to Butler, Wis. and then to Milwaukee. Until they moved back to Plover on November 2, 1954.

Bob and Shirley had three children together: Robert B. Ciesielski (Joelene) of Plover, the late Nancy S. Schmidt (David) of Stevens Point, and Mark S. Ciesielski (Cathy) of Plover.

Once the children got married they blessed Bob and Shirley with seven wonderful grandchildren: Terry Jaecks (Joan) of Bloomington, Minn., Heidi Winterhack (Michael) of DePere, Wis., Robert L. Ciesielski of Plover, Greta Olson (Luke) of Appleton, Wis., Cory Ciesielski of Plover, Matthew (Mary) Ciesielski of Stevens Point, and Scott Ciesielski (Fiance Becky Peterson) of Amherst, Wis.

Later in Bob and Shirley’s lives were truly even more blessed with 10 great-grandchildren: Emmett, Katarina, Alexander, Orion, Avery, Elliott, Aurora, Isabella, Brandon, and Ashley.

Bob and Shirley enjoyed spending time spoiling all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob really took interest in teaching the grandchildren about hard work and dedication to family. Bob wasn’t only their grandpa he was also their mentor, boss, and best friend.

In Bob’s free time he enjoyed taking nightly country rides with the love of his life Shirley, the late “Bubba” and the recent “Rusty” the two dogs they had together. He also enjoyed attending Nascar Races, and watching their son, Mark and grandsons Robert L., Matt and Scott race at Golden Sands Speedway and at Marshfield Motor Speedway.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, S. Edward Ciesielski and Sophie Ciesielski; his loving wife, Shirley Ciesielski; a daughter, Nancy Schmidt; a brother, Joe; and five sisters, Verona, Mary, Florence, Chris, and Irene.

Bob is survived by his brother Edward Ciesielski (Beverly) of Bancroft, and a sister Gertrude Schulist (the late Jerry) of Stevens Point.

The family of Bob would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Senior Living, Stevens Point and the Palliative Care and MSICU at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau for the wonderful care they provided. There is no way that we could have done this without all your kind words, hard work and dedication to him.

He was truly a man that was loved and blessed to have so many wonderful and caring people in his life.
