SPASH baseball splits doubleheader in DeForest

The SPASH baseball team traveled to DeForest for a non-conference doubleheader against DeForest and Madison Memorial on Saturday. SPASH fell short 9-11 against DeForest but turned around and defeated Madison Memorial 3-2.

SPASH vs. DeForest

SPASH took an early lead against DeForest in the second inning with six runs produced. Jack Kelly hit a home run in the 4th inning but it wasn’t enough to keep up with DeForest’s 13 hits.

Brandy Franz and Brett Ehr led the team in hits with a pair of singles each.

Dylan Davis took the loss for SPASH on the mound.

SPASH vs. Madison Memorial

Austin Byer doubled in the 6th inning scoring Brady Franz and Brett Ehr to tie the game.

SPASH took the lead in the 7th with Brady Franz hitting a single to bring Dayne Hoyord across the plate.

Brady Franz, Austin Byer, and Brett Ehr each had two hits.

Kenny Schultz was the winning pitcher coming out of the bullpen going three innings allowing one hit, no runs, and three strikeouts.

SPASH will be hosting a makeup game against Wisconsin Rapids Monday at Memorial Park in Plover. First pitch at 4:30 p.m.
