By Patrick Lynn

Stevens Point police on Friday announced a convicted sex offender has served his sentence and will be released back into the community on Aug. 6.

Tyler J. Kollauf, 24 of Almond, was convicted on three counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child, and one count of exposing a child to harmful materials, in June 2014. He was sentenced for five years and six months of state prison time, followed by six years and six months of extended supervision, by Judge Thomas Fluguar.

According to a news release from the Stevens Point Police Department, Kollauf sexually assaulted a 13-year-old female acquaintance multiple times, then sent photos of his genitals to her.

Kollauf also forcibly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old female acquaintance in his vehicle after a school dance, and a 14-year-old female, also sending pictures of his genitals to the latter.

Police believe Kollauf may have also assaulted other minor female in a similar way.

Kollauf will be living at 1019 Arlington Place, a halfway house in Stevens Point, and placed on supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC). His activities will be monitored by probation agents with the Division of Community Corrections, the news release said.

As a condition of his release, Kollauf is prohibited from having any unsupervised contact with minors and his victims, and may not consume drugs without a legal prescription.

Kollauf is subject to lifetime GPS monitoring and is required to register as with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry for the rest of his life.
