Rookies Sign Update ‘Long Overdue’

Rookies Sports Pub is sporting a new look.

The south side sports bar updated its marquee sign on Dec. 15. The sign was installed by Bushman Electric.

The bar is popular for hosting live music and comedy shows, to include Carlos Mencia, but most recently two sold-out shows by Charlie Berens. The bar also sponsors a team in the Portage County Women’s Fall Softball League.

Owner Randy Woyak has owned the bar for for almost a decade.

“It’ll be 10 years in April,” Woyak said, adding while he owns the entire building, to include the space occupied by the Park Ridge Cafe, he sold the adjacent motel two years ago.

“The main goal sign sign is to celebrate our 10-year anniversary in April,” he added. “It’s long overdue.”

Rookies is located at 3425 Church Street.
