Police & Sheriff calls, Nov. 26-27

Nov. 26

Late-night Shopper: Police were called to the 5400 block of Hwy. 10 East at 12:45 a.m. after someone reported suspicious activity on a car lot there. A 63-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were reportedly looking inside an unlocked car on the property, telling police they were looking at cars for sale.

Extortion: A 48-year-old man who works at Comfort Suites, 300 Division St. North, called police at 8:56 a.m. to report he was being extorted by former employees of the hotel.

Crash: Police responded to a single-vehicle slide-in crash in the roundabout at North Point Dr. and Division St. at 9:35 a.m. One driver, an 18-year-old man, was cited for failure to yield.

Argument: A caller reported two people were having a loud argument in their driveway at 12:45 p.m. on the 700 block of Walker St. The 22-year-old woman and 26-year-old man were warned to keep the volume down.

Suspicious Photographer: A 37-year-old woman called police at 7:38 p.m. to report an unknown man was following a hospital employee from work to her car and taking her photo.

Busted: Police cited a 19-year-old woman for unsafe lane deviation, operating under the influence, first offense, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The woman was later released to a responsible adult.

Nov. 27

Bail-jumper: Deputies arrested a 25-year-old man on the 1500 block of Strongs Ave. for violating his bond at 3:43 p.m.
