Police & Sheriff calls, Jan. 21

Drunk: Police were called to conduct a welfare check on a 23-year-old woman who was “laying in the road” near Bush St. and Indiana Ave. at 9:25 a.m. The woman was intoxicated and became combative with officers. She was arrested on a probation violation and a charge of resisting an officer.

Welfare check: Police were called to the 3200 block of Mary St. at 2:36 p.m. when a caller reported a 41-year-old father in the home was verbally abusive towards his children.

Disorderly: Deputies were called to the 6900 block of Balsam Dr. in Amherst at 4:19 p.m. when a bus driver reported a disorderly student on the bus.

Crash: Police cited a 41-year-old man for violating a red traffic light at Michigan Ave. and Main St. at 6:26 p.m.

Repeat offenders: Dispatchers received multiple complaints about loud arguing from the 700 block of Bliss Ave. at 11:22 p.m. Police arrested a 26-year-old man on charges of false imprisonment, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, trespassing, and domestic abuse.
