The roadside sign in front of Belts’ Soft Serve on Friday announces its opening day for 2018.

The local staple will open for the season on Friday, March 2.

Die-hard fans have made an annual tradition of camping out on the property, located at 2140 Division St., the evening before its seasonal opening, often using ice shacks, tents and space heaters to make it through the cold overnight weather.

Belts’ is prepping for it’s 38th year of selling cones, sundaes and shakes for the spring and summer season.

The window will open at 11 AM. Regular hours are 11 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week.
