Metro Wire Staff

Taps and Tackle Co. brings fishing tackle and beer under one roof in Park Ridge.

The new bait shop, which specializes in musky lures and serving draught beer, officially opened at 35 Park Ridge Dr., Ste. C, on Nov. 11. Co-owned by Jozef Wojciehoski and Matt Lazarski, the specialty shop is located inside Lazarski’s liquor store, The Bottle Stop.

The new business aims to create a unique experience when it comes to bait shops by merging a bar and a musky bait shop into a one-of-a-kind experience.

Taps and Tackle Co. outfits customers with “completely custom colored musky lures, exceptional customer service, and a retail bait experience that is one-of-a-kind.”

“This is an idea we’ve been toying around with for quite some time,” Lazarski said. “We are doing something that has never been done before, bringing a bar to a musky bait shop.”

Lazarski also said customers can reach the company virtually during the COVID crisis and beyond.

The business keeps eight draught beers for customers to enjoy while browsing the store, and offers free in-store pickup along with remote shopping at https://tapsandtackleco.com.

Taps and Tackle Co. “redefines the modern ‘bait shop’ by bringing a bar into the store and creating an atmosphere to share fishing stories over draught beers,” Wojciehoski said.

The business offers tips on musky fishing, rods, reels, lures, and more.

“We couldn’t be more excited for the future,” Lazarski said.
