DOT to install curb, gutter this week

Crews continue work on the rebuild of Bus. 51 in Whiting on Monday.

This week, crews will reopen the intersection of Locust St. and County Hwy. HH/McDill Ave. They will also close the intersection of Elm St. and Bus. 51 to complete work on trim, grade, and pour concrete on Elm.

Crews will continue to pour concrete sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, driveway aprons, and concrete terraces along northbound Bus. 51 and eastbound County HH/McDill. Concrete pavement installation for the intersection of Willow and Cedar streets, east of Bus. 51, should be done this week.

Crews will also begin to install the median curb and gutter along the northbound lanes of Bus. 51.

Motorists should continue to use caution in work zones.
